CEFN PARC ABERDEEN ANGUS
The Cefn Parc Pedigree Aberdeen Angus herd is based on a hill farm approximately 7 Miles outside the City of Swansea, in South Wales.
The herd was established in 1993 with the purchase of two females from Fairoaks, Fairoaks Pride R10 and Fairoaks Lady R40. The herd was further expanded in 2000 with the purchase of Georgastia of Haymount (by Golatio of Haymount) and Girona of Haymount (by Cardona Eagle). In 2002 a further five in-calf heifers were purchased from Haymount. These heifers were sired by Cardona Eagle and Euloverlad of The Moss.
The herd now comprises approximately 22 Breeding females, most of which currently have calves at foot by our current stock bulls Idvies Ermand F302 and Idvies Jason Eric J407.
The cattle remain outdoors all year round, fed only on grass, and silage during the winter months. Only the best calves are reared as breeding bulls whilst the remainder are castrated and sold for slaughter.
Since the herd was established the main aim has been improving carcass quality, therefore producing cattle that are attractive to commercial beef breeders and subsequently the meat market.
Young bulls usually for sale.
Visitors welcome by pre-appointment.
